U2/Green Day revive “The Saints are Coming”

U2 and Green Day could hardly have found a better song with which to open the New Orleans Superbowl on September 25 last, according to a report on A-Lyric.com. “The Saints are Coming” is a poignant track written by a Scottish punk band called The Skids. Originally, it was compose for a friend of theirs that died in Belfast. Songwriter Richard Jobson, now a renowned film-maker, could hardly believe it when U2’s The Edge rang to inform him they wanted to record the track with Green Day.
