Is Stainless Steel Hypoallergenic?

Most jewellery that is labelled “for sensitive ears” these days is made from stainless steel. Many people with severe nickel allergy however, still react to these earrings, and tend to give up on wearing jewellery. The reality is, although stainless steel can be hypoallergenic, much of the stainless steel used in “hypoallergenic” jewellery today is not as high a grade as it needs to be to be totally allergy free. So what is the answer for nickel allergy sufferers? When buying hypoallergenic jewellery, ensure that it is of high quality, or better still, simply buy titanium earrings (ensuring that the posts and clips are also titanium) as titanium is simply the most hypoallergenic metal used in jewellery today, and even the most severe sufferers will not react.
