There is no doubt that having an ADHD child can put a great deal of pressure on the whole family. These are self help groups, and they serve as an excellent platform for parents with ADHD kids to meet with each other and share their experiences and concerns. Sharing can immensely lessen the feeling of stress and isolation. In addition to that, the lessons learned from the experiences of others can prove to be invaluable.

In the event that no parent support group exist in your area, you may want to consider setting up one - beginning with say three or four parents. If it is managed well, the group can grow very fast. One of the greatest returns from such an effort would be in knowing that you have brought joy to so many lives!
