Women want to look fabulous this summer on the beach. Not going to a beach? There is bound to be a swimming pool at your hotel. Looking good in swimwear is not about choosing the latest ‘must have’ fashionable bikini or swimsuit but choosing the right swimwear for your body shape.

We’ve split body shapes into six basic categories to give you our recommendations for each body shape…

If you have a small bust

Less is more when it comes to bikinis for smaller chests as too much fabric or a poor fit will not do you any favours. Try to get bikini tops with adjustable straps on both the shoulders and around the back to ensure you get a perfect fit.

If you have a big bust

Wide shoulder straps will be more comfortable than thin spagetti straps and avoid strapless bandeau style tops or tiny triangle bikini tops as these will not flatter you. One-piece swimsuits with integral support also work well.

If you have small hips

If you don’t large hips then draw the eye upwards by adding detailing to your bikini top such as ruffles, pleats, bows and rings.

If you have large hips

Avoid anything with a horizontal pattern, especially if it is bold or striped. Choose high cut briefs or swimsuits to lengthen your legs and definately stay away from boyleg styled briefs as these will make you look stocky. A plain coloured one piece with a bright vertical pattern down the center can work wonders and instantly slim your hips.

If you have a long body

You have the perfect figure for a stylish cut away or cut out one piece swimsuit as these work perfectly with tall thin women by providing visual breaks. Don’t go too cut away or for massive vertical cuts as this will actually have the opposite effect.

If you have a large tummy

The aim here is to draw the eyes away from your middle so go for subtle detailing on both the top and the bottom of the swimsuit leaving the centre as plain as possible.
