Common cause of halitosis and bad breath

Halitosis is a dental health problem that millions are suffering. This is characterized by a consistent foul odor in the mouth. The first step in treating this type of condition is by identifying the root cause of the problem. In order for you to identify the cause, you must know what causes it. In the case of halitosis or much known as bad breath, there are many possible causes. But of the most common causes is smoking, people who smokes are much prone to develop halitosis. Also, there are certain foods that cause bad breath such as food that has garlic and onion content. Poor oral hygiene can also contribute to bad breath because of the plaque that builds up in the gum line. Medical conditions such as infection in the nose, lungs, and liver problems can also cause bad breath.
