Sports Performance and Hypnosis

There is a timeless saying “what the mind believes the body achieves.” Using hypnosis or self hypnosis engages this process for we first see and do in our mind whatever it is we desire to achieve, which begins to create the deep belief it is possible and then we have an increased chance of actually achieving what we first created mentally. Using the subconscious mind to engage in the imagery and created visualization of what we desire has been written about in cultures around the world since there has been documentation. It’s not new and athletes use it routinely. Golf legend Jack Nicklaus once said, “Golf is a game of inches. The most important seven are between your ears.”

Any athlete in any sport, whether on a team or playing alone has any better tool in their arsenal to improve athletic performance than hypnosis. The team that is best on paper based on statistics and odds isn’t necessarily the winner, which is why the game is played. It’s the team or player with the mental edge that can rise above to the winner’s circle. Just ask the champions and superstars of their sport.
